New Windows Phone 7 features have been revealed by Microsoft, as well as upcoming tweaks for the platform. Steve Ballmer, Microsoft CEO, admitted that work was needed for the platform though, which is interesting.
“Mango” is the word that the update is being nicknamed. Existing WP7 devices will receive it for free, and it will be integrated into newer devices by default. A new Internet Explorer 9 update will allow HTML 5-based websites and gamers to headline the feature.
Multitasking, background processing and a new notification system are among other additions. And Mango’s release comes at a time where the Windows Phone Marketplace will be released in 18 new countries. That’s brilliant news for Microsoft.
