From Microsoft themselves, Windows 8 is expected to integrate Xbox Live into its offered services on the new operating system for the PC.
The hope for this success will lead to even bigger things, as Mike Delman (Global Marketing VP) commented, “You will not just see consoles and handhelds at [E3] next year, this show’s going to morph into other devices.” So a lot of potential here to see things grow and new technology being presented. Something that is too exciting to wait for.
With how much consumers want convenience in the services or content they purchase, it only makes sense that Microsoft wants to cater to that and allow them ways to access it through the multiple devices that they use.
Things like online multiplayer and digital distribution will be accessible by users through either device and on Win 8, the Xbox Live connection is set to be the service where users can get all their entertainment.
Hints that it will become a cloud media service across PCs, Windows Phones, and Xbox gained the response that it will be “the pervasive media service across devices.”
All we’re waiting for now is a shipping date for Windows 8…
