Sony recently revealed more information about their upcoming new gaming platform, the PSP Vita. First known as the NGP, we are now provided with more detailed information.
The Vita will have 2 models, one that is Wi-Fi only, the other with 3G. It has been revealed that the 3G model will be sold through AT&T. However, no plans or prices have been revealed yet. Sony also mentioned that the device won’t be region specific.
The PS Vita will not support UMD, which the older PSP ran. Instead, games will be stored on a memory card. Also, there are no plans of making the Vita compatible with the PS2, and PS3, though it will play PSOne and PSP classics.
There will be no 3D and no HDMI or any other form of video output. This means there is no possibility of playing games on a bigger screen. Sony is still unclear on which functions other than gaming will be available, including Flash, YouTube, PDF, Remote Play, SenseMe or Skype support.
Seems like there’s a lot of stuff included and left out. Wonder how the Vita will do…
