A recent arrest has been made in the UK of a 19 year old in Essex, who is suspected to be a LulzSec member and has been charged to be connected to the DDOS attack on the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA, like the British version of the FBI). An attack that LulzSec has claimed responsibility for.
There’s also word that the suspect may be connected to the big PlayStation Network breach (making him a possible ex-Anonymous member) and a search is in progress of “any Sony data” in the “significant amount of material” that was found at the suspect’s home.
But interestingly enough, LulzSec is…well, lulzing and have tweeted this message after news of the arrest broke:
Could they be telling the truth or just be bluffing to keep the heat off their captured member? It’s a bit difficult to tell, considering no one knows who they really are.
But they also tweeted something else related, “Just saw the pastebin of the UK census hack. That wasn’t us – don’t believe fake LulzSec releases unless we put out a tweet first” and “But hey, if someone out there hacked the UK government in the name of #AntiSec, well done sirs!”
It’s turning out to be such a rollercoaster story.
