Hideo Kojima sat down with Famitsu and stressed the differences between Japanese and Western games.

Speaking from experience, Kojima said that the key to global success was to create two separate developing entities to focus solely on one market. If you want success in the Western hemisphere, you should create a separate team and fund them separately. Cultural differences also attribute to international success, as those with different culture may find it hard to understand certain aspects in games.

Kojima is working on the Fox Engine that will hopefully help him to develop titles to compete with Western developers.
