Suspect Ryan Cleary, who was arrested in Essex last week for being linked to hacking group LulzSec, has just been granted bail. Conditions of his bail include a curfew between 9AM and 7PM, as well as wearing an electronic tag.

The 19 year old will be unable to leave his house alone, unless he is accompanied by one of his parents and is not allowed to access the internet or have any devices that are able to go online.

After his arrest, Cleary was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome, a type of autism, characterized by having social interaction difficulties and “restrictive and repetitive patterns of behaviors and interests.” Interestingly, it’s the same thing that the infamous NASA hacker from a few years ago, Gary McKinnon, has too.

I almost feel as though Cleary is a scapegoat with how LulzSec suddenly “disbanded” and made sure to dissociate themselves with him. A kind of sad way for all the hacking drama to end, but what can you do about it?
