Sony Computer Entertainment has reshuffled its top tier and promoted Andrew House and Kaz Hirai to the top of the table. Effective from September 1, current CEO and co-COO of SCE Europe Andrew House will make make the step up to the position of group president and CEO of SCE International.
He will replace Kazuo Hirai, who now is the SCE International chairman.
Jim Ryan, Executive Vice President and Co-COO of SCEE will now assume House’s former role as President and CEO of SCEE.
The company has also announced the retirement of current chairman Akira Sato, effective August 31, 2011.
House says, “Since returning to SCE two years ago, I have focused on further expanding our business in the European/PAL territories and regaining our market leadership there.”
Howard Stringer, the head honcho CEO of Sony Corporation, has been pressured to resign, but he doesn’t seem to be backing down any time soon.
