The upcoming Wii redesign has been found out to be the same size as the current model of the Nintendo Wii. The new Wii, despite the removal of the GameCube controller and the memory card slots, will be still the same measurements of the original’s 167 x 44 x 215.4 mm dimensions, according to ONM.
This means there is only one difference between the two models, and it’s the lack of the GameCube game and peripheral support another feature Nintendo’s upcoming Wii U will also not provide. The new Wii is set to be out by Christmas in Europe and Nintendo in America have announced there is no plans to launch the new design there.
The new remake of the Wii comes with a Wii Remote Plus and a Wii Party packed in along side the original collection of the Wii Sports game. Nintendo also told Eurogamer that after the new model launches, the current Wii will be discontinued.
I think it’s a weird choice by the guys at Nintendo that they are removing features off the old Wii and re-releasing it? Especially when most people are already looking forward to the Wii U…sounds weird, but what do you guys think?
