At the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation in Tokyo, Japanese scientists were able to stimulate the future through the use of Kinect!
They called this project “The Shape of 2050,” wherein the people are able to interact in a city they have created called that “Itookashi City.”
The project aims to see how humans will change their society with Earth becoming more limited, and thus letting the humans express their ideas through scientific techniques. This involes a combination of touchscreen, augmented reality (AR), and basic gestures all in front of the Kinect.
The demo will start as the people receive an entrance AR card, allowing the people to interact with 61 different inhabitants and the environment as well. The next part of the demo will allow the people to choose a technology or anything science-related that they see should be incorporated into the city. Moreover with this, they will be able to see the effects of these technology and how it can affect their environment.
I think this is a really great idea to make people more aware of the use of technology and how it can certainly deal with lots of changes in society.
