Earlier this week, a screenshot was leaked of Soul Calibur V and it showed a surprising new playable character…Assassin’s Creed’s Ezio Auditore!

Namco Bandai has confirmed that the Assassin’s Creed character will be not only be in the game but playable! Ezio will be available in both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game, and is the latest guest to the game following Yoda, Darth Vader, the Apprentice, Link, Spawn and Heihachi.

Other characters confirmed for the game are Dampierre (From Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny, but will only be available through a pre-order from a currently unidentified retailer), Nightmare, Raphael and a new character Leixia.

Soul Calibur V will be released on January 31, 2012.
