Now, the Xbox has hit ten years of age. On November 15th 2001, the original Xbox hit US stores. Chris Lewis reflected on the brand’s launch, present and future. He was interviewed by Edge, who were happy to take in his happy thoughts.
Lewis is currently vice president of Microsoft’s Europe, Middle East and Africa company. That has been the case for almost 22 years now. And he says that the Xbox has brought Microsoft the world of goodness and some great achievement.
“We were agile - we were first with many things we were proud of. So I was confident we had the appetite for it. Could I have seen us here in ten years time? No”, said Lewis, who added “Did I think we would have 57 million Xbox 360s out there and growing? No, I probably wouldn’t have guessed we’d have that much momentum. But we were in for the long term and that it was a marathon, not a sprint”.
Lewis went on to explain a lot more in his interview. What do you think about the success Xbox has had in ten years?
