“Rise of the Samurai” has already received its own expansion for Total War: Shogun 2, so why not give it another go with a “Fall of the Samurai” expansion? It will be set in the 19th century and involves the final Shogunate along with the those of the Imperial throne. You’ll see a lot of weapons seen today paired with samurai culture.
SEGA raised the expectations on their blog by calling it extremely large compared to their past work on the title. Included in the list of new features are: “railway networks, ironclad warships, improved siege battle mechanics, new land and sea unit interactions, the ability to call offshore artillery, and coastal gun emplacements,” along with brand new kinds of agents: “Foreign Veteran, Ishin Shishi, and Shinsengumi.” There’s undoubtedly more to come, as well!
Don’t get too excited, however, because the expansion shouldn’t be arriving until March of next year!
