Infinity Blade II is the sequel to popular iOS game, Infinity Blade, and this game is to be enjoyed by old and new fans alike!
With a rating of age 9+, this isn’t your typical game for young children, but I would probably suggest it for those who are a little older - let the young ones enjoy their innocence a little longer. After all, it’s a game where you fight against different monsters and creatures in your quest to free the Worker of Secrets.
Similarly like its predecessor, the game is based on a repetitive narrative structure where your character (default name is Siris) goes into an abandoned castle or fortress to free the Worker of Secrets, who is the creator of the Infinity Blade and will help Siris combat against the Deathless that continue to attack him because of his possession of the Infinity Blade. Siris is killed by an unknown assassin (I want to say it was the woman in the beginning of the game that talks to Siris, but I can’t say for certain), but is reborn and that’s where the game begins. You start off with the basic of basic weapons and armor and must do battle against many of the creatures that stand in your way.
If you’re unfamiliar with the gameplay, here’s the rundown: you only need to use your fingers. Your fingers are the controllers of the game, so to speak. You attack, defend, pick up goodies, look around with your fingers, so yes, your screen will be very dirty after a while. When you first start the game, you learn on the spot, which isn’t so bad. The game teaches you how to attack, block, dodge, defend, parry, and even give you some kind of injury with your hand, considering how much I swipe my finger across the screen.
Don’t fret if you die. That’s the whole point of the game (though, to my chagrin, I discovered it a little late and was quite frustrating about “dying” before realizing that’s how it was supposed to be). As I will explain more in a later post about tips and tricks, you do have to be attentive to the game. But that will be explained later.
The graphics are amazing. I haven’t seen any glitches or bugs when it comes down to graphics. No random floating in the air, objects where they’re not supposed to be. The graphics are definitely superb, probably on the same level as one of the later Final Fantasy games (and those graphics are breathtaking). As for the music, well, there’s not much fancy music but it does the job credibly well, just like any action RPG game.
Let me say, I was impressed by the game. Before I discovered it on the iPad, I actually had no idea such a game existed (though sadly enough, I did write how Infinity Blade’s sales moved past $10 million back in June but not owning an iPad at the time, I suppose it didn’t leave an impression in my mind). So, when I heard about its cult following, I was more intrigued to try out the game. And given that I had never played the prequel or the sequel, it is safe to say that I came into this game neutral, unbiased, average expectations. Not once did I realize how blown away I would be by the game. The first time I played it, I played it for 2 and a half hours before realizing that it was past 2AM. It’s an addicting game. I do sort of wish that I played Infinity Blade before Infinity Blade II because the latter is an engaging sequel. Just like with movies, game sequels can be bad. But this sequel definitely amazed me and though I still need to practice my finger swiping skills on the iPad, I can say with certainty that this game, despite its $6.99 price tag, is a game definitely worth getting. You won’t be disappointed - I can guarantee that for you.

Wow, that’s a freaking amazing score then! Seriously though, the graphics looks really smooth and that’s great that there haven’t been any bugs or glitches. I’m not the best player for RPG games that are on an iPod or iPad. I’m not familiar with the game too so i’ll see if I have the time to check it out. ^^
