Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto, the head of development and a name that is easily recognized in the gaming world, has decided to make a big change…he’s retiring from his current position.
In an interview conducted by Wired’s Game l Life Blog, Miyamoto explained “I’m not saying I’m going to retire from game development altogether. What I mean by retiring is, retiring from my current position.” However, don’t worry…he’s not completely retiring from the gaming world or Nintendo.
Miyamoto has decided that he would like to work on some smaller projects with younger developers or by himself. “…I’m not intending to start [things] that require a five-year development time.” But he is ooking at something new.
Miyamoto is responsible for some of Nintendo’s big money making games such as The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros., Donkey Kong, Kirby, and Star Fox to name a few. I wonder what Miyamoto will come up with in the future.

it’s sad to see such a great person retiring, but he deserves it! I wish him all the best with smaller future projects^^!

I wonder too. If he will create another break through game for the world or continue improving the awesome games he has made. What an amazing game developer. At least he is getting rest from his position.
