To make Star Wars: The Old Republic possible, the developers spent millions of money creating this massively multiplay online game. Come to think of it, their hardwork paid off as millions of players have already joined this MMO. Beforehand, BioWare had already made backup plans of SWTOR would fail. They had ideas like basing the game on The Lord of the Rings, The Silmarillion, or Game of Thrones.

They first started by having a three-man team make a 10 page design document which according to director James Ohlen was very important in developing a MMO. During the time when BioWare was having negotiations with LucasArts about the right to use Star Wars, the developers took in consideration the possible settings like George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Firenovels and Stephen King’s Dark Tower series.

Well, SWTOR has had some of the interesting roots! I really wondered if ever SWTOR wasn’t successful then it was replaced but LOTR and the other games mentioned above. However I still believe SWTOR will be a success no matter what.
