After a blistering beginning week of sales, followed by a very poor record in the week after, there has been much speculation about the PlayStation Vita quite recently. Most of this is for bad reasons, especially the overall bad records of sales.

However, Michael Pachter, a Wedbush Morgan Securities videogame analyst, says that the device is still on track. It has been rumoured that the PlayStation Vita may take a price cut, involving a reduction in the eventual US price of it.

However, Pachter explained his predictions, saying “There’s no chance for a price cut. The price points for software are what I expected, and highlight the disparity between casual smartphone games and premium console-quality handheld games”.
