It has been confirmed that Sony will be offering discounts on the downloadable versions of games (as opposed to the physical boxed games) for the PlayStation Vita (some predict it will be cheaper by 10%), but what do fans think about this?

There have been some mixed reactions by fans. While some fans are advocating for the downloadable route, saying: “I’d rather do digital, because if i want to delete the game off the card to make room, i can, and then i can download it again anytime i want,” and

“Well being a PSN+ member I’ve bough a lot of games because of the extra discount,” and

“I’m going straight download for this system…I don’t feel like dealing with game cards that are the size of my thumb nail (I will lose them) but I will miss having the box and book.”

There is an overwhelming negative response to going digital: “If that 10% discount is true, I’m still going physical whenever I get a Vita. Some retailers might have some heavy discounts that will put them lower than the digital copy,” and

“I just like to open the packaging. Plus if I don’t like the game I can return it,” and

“I would rather pay a little more and have physical copies of my games that I know will always be in my possession for as long as I want to keep them.”

I’m a bit of a collector, so I prefer to have physical copies of games. It’s the age I grew up in. All this digital and download talk is just foreign, but I’m sure for the younger and next generations, that will be the only option.

It is totally understandable with all the comments above mentioned. Digital games are nice but sometimes the game might end up what you didn’t expect and you can’t return it.. It does feel nice getting the box of something you have been waiting for too. ^^
I would go with the physical game.
