There have been many games that have taken me a few days to complete, but I have never had the patience to take over 200 hours on one game! Is 200 hours too much?

A recent total completion playthrough of 38 Studios’ Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning took more than 200 hours, which has the lead designer wondering if they might have overdone it a little. Lead designer Ian Frazier said that even the quality assurance folks that have been playing the game for months and know how to take the easy routes and fly through games like this took more than eight days to experience everything the game had to offer.

So, basically, this means that even when they skipped cut scenes and dialogue, didn’t engage in any combat, and sprinted everywhere and took every short cut they could, they still managed to take around 200 hours. Sure, some gamers may enjoy games like that, but when you think about adding in everything they took out, I wonder how long it would really take to complete this game?

I personally could not see myself playing this game for more than a few hours before I got bored, but I’m sure fans of the game (and I mean BIG fans) would love this!
