Diablo 3 Gamer Diary Day 1: Traps and Axes

Upon my journey in Act I, I came across many obstacles and traps. However, no obstacle left me more flabbergasted than these humungous bloody axes. These mechanical axes you see above and below me are part of many traps/obstacles you will see in Diablo III. They strike down and re-up themselves every few seconds. On top of that they are all lined up in a narrow corridor, and when they hit, they hit hard.

Timing is key or so I thought. When passing these things, you are invited by hordes of enemies. Some come out of the furnace seen to my character’s left. Timing the axes, fighting mobs, sometimes running away from mobs only to meet Mr. Axe again…it was no simple task.

Also along my journeys, I couldn’t help but wonder what this eerie grotesque looking giant was doing in the background. It wasn’t something I could click on, however. It just sat there – staring, waiting. Its subtle movements in the background were unnerving. It gave me chilling forebodings of what to expect while traveling deeper into the depths of the crater.
