A new firmware update for the PlayStation Vita handheld has just been released. As a result, the system is now up to version 1.69. It is an optional update that does not have to be taken. but its not too technical.

It is a “minor system software update” that “improves software stability” said Eric Lempel of Sony Network Entertainment. You have go to the Settings app to manually update it or skips it without “stability” updates.

Lempel added “In the coming months, you can look forward to new game reveals and other news for Vita”. So, there’s exciting times round the corner for the PlayStation Vita. It should do well in the upcoming year.
