The Wii U is coming along, but recently Nintendo’s president Satoru Iwata admitted that Nintendo’s next game console almost didn’t make it.

Iwata recently told The Telegraph that the Wii U almost got scrapped because there were concerns about how high the price would be for the console.

“Sometime during that final discussion we almost gave up on the idea of the additional screen,” Iwata told The Telegraph. “This was due to our concern over the expected high cost, it may not have been feasible to create this and sell it at a reasonable price point for the consumers.”

I just wonder what this “reasonable” price point is that they determined.

Hmmm, we will still have to see. I hope it’s not $399 as rumor goes…

I like the idea behind the Wii U, but none of the consoles are reasonably priced

I have to agree. Consoles are expensive unless you buy gameboy or some old console like play station 2.

A gold controller seems like it’d look cool!
