Data has been released confirming that around 160,000 Xbox 360 units were sold by Microsoft in the US last month. NPD have claimed that $209 million were made by Microsoft through these sales over the month.

Xbox 360 also had 6 of the top 10 selling games of the month on its platform too. Aaron Greenberg, Xbox executive, said around 45 percent of the market share was Xbox 360’s. That’s 15 consecutive months where Xbox 360 has taken up over 40 percent of the total hardware share, which is certainly not a bad record.

Anita Frazier, an analyst at NPD, said “All hardware platforms, save the 3DS, saw a decline in unit sales versus last year. The Nintendo DS, however, did realize a 35 percent lift over April 2012, catalyzed by the May 20th price reduction on the DSi and DSi XL. Even with the price drop on the DS platform, 3DS sales realized an increase of 17 percent over last May”.

Wow, Xbox 360 is doing really great.

It’s not surprising. Even though PS3 is more expensive, I would like to see it dominate a month.

Hm, I wonder if xbox will dominate for June as well.
