Do you ever fancy yourself sitting at the tables of a casino, being on TV for the fun World Series of Poker, but just didn’t have enough money to do so? Well, you can now live out your dream, though it’s thanks to Electronic Arts for creating the game and Apple for putting the game onto their iOS.

Review Guide

This World Series of Poker is everything you see on TV, from Texas Hold’Em to Omaha. The game is fun - you try your hand, skills, and of course, a bit of luck when you play these tables against more seasoned pros and players. Real-life players. As in, you have to log in to Facebook when you play this game (more on that later). Currently, there is no guest mode so if you have no Facebook, you’re a little screwed and your dreams can’t be realized. Yet.

When you play at a table, you get probably around 15 seconds to make your move - playing is simple enough. You can click the fold, check, bet options before it’s your turn so it’s somewhat of an auto move. Though, I was a bit peeved when I first started to play a game - it was my turn and I was about to move when the game just crashed and kicked me out. Not cool! But I managed to get back in and started kicking butt, ha. It was fun.

Really, the game is all about skills and luck and I think I have more luck than skills because I don’t really play poker. I did win a decent hand with a runaway flush, so I earned lots of moolah. Or chips. Actually, virtual chips. Oh how I wish I could win that in real life, ha. You can also win virtual bracelets and rings, like you see on TV during the actual tournaments. Seems pretty awesome, doesn’t it?

Now, while this game is all free and stuff, I didn’t like how I had to use Facebook to log in. Granted, I should have probably read the game description on the website before I did, but hey, it’s the World Series of Poker. You cannot play the game without a FB account, so you’ll have to use your own, create a dummy account, or not play at all. Electronic Arts, why are we using Facebook to login and play? Isn’t there a way for us just to set up a game account and play? What’s the point in using Facebook? I don’t get it. And I’m guessing that the guest mode will not allow you to save anything. That’s really retarded. Let me create a profile to let me play that doesn’t have to use Facebook.

Besides that, it was fun. The game goes smoothly and it’s a lot of fun to play. Though really. No Facebook login, please.

Cool score for this game. Who doesn’t like poker...? Me!!! Just because I haven’t and couldn’t play it yet...in real life of course.
