EA’s Command And Conquer Generals 2 was originally announced as new retail game, but it now turns out that it will be released as a free-to-play service simply called ‘Command And Conquer.’ As announced at the current Gamescom 2012, the game is now available as a beta version for some fans who sign up at its official site.

Command And Conquer will be available for everyone starting next year with the material originally developed for Generals 2. However, this sudden transition apparently leaves many fans disappointed, as they have been waiting for the original sequel to Generals 1.

What do you think?
