Any talk of a price cut for the relatively disappointly performing PlayStation Vita handheld has now been cut short, after Sony explicity muffled the rumours. Shuhei Yoshida, Worldwide Studios boss, said “No. It’s too early.”
But he did give hope of potential price reductions in the not so near future, stating “Of course, cost reduction is one area our engineering team is working on. But we just launched the platform earlier this year. It takes time to do so.”
Many people have seen a grim picture of the Vita’ early days of the market. Along with the pricing, content has also been ponited to as a reason for sluggish sales. However, that doesn’t seem to be changing just yet.
