Given the poor PlayStation Vita sales so far, it is not surprising that the PlayStation Portable is apparently selling at twice as fast a rate at the former. Statistics have been recorded of the sales within the last financial quarter from Sony.

Worldwide Vita sales were at 2.2 million units on June 30th, 2012, according to Sony. It was only three months before that when it stood at 1.8 million, so this financial year has not started too brightly for sales of the Vita.

Further Sony data indicates that over twice as many PSPs are being sold by the company compared to Vitas. Little do we know of how long the abysmal sales so far will carry on for, and it doesn’t look bright until more household games are available.
