Michael Pachter, a games industry analyst, has claimed that despite rumours of a Christmas 2013 launch of the PlayStation 4, that indeed may not be so as a delay until spring 2014 is possible. Xbox 360’s successor is also expected to arrive late next year.
He said “We have heard no word yet from Microsoft or Sony about their plans to launch new consoles, but both manufacturers are widely expected to launch consoles by year-end 2013, although we believe that Microsoft could delay a new console launch until spring of 2014 in order to accommodate what is certain to be overwhelming demand among hardcore gamers”.
Whatever happens, we can be sure that 2013 will be an enthralling year awaiting for announcements and other updates concerning the grand release of both consoles. In related news, Frank Gibeau of EA also insisted that they will be launched “in about a year’s time”.
