The Mechromancer DLC for Borderlands 2 is set to arrive on October 16th, after Gearbox revealed the news. It is set to be available at no cost for pre-orderers of the game, with others downloading for $9.99/800 MS Points.

This news comes in the face of an announcement before of Gearbox’s intentions to release four campaign add-on packs for the game at a price of $9.99, and the Borderlands 2 Season Pass gives gamers the chance to pre-purchase for cut-prices.

The campaign add-on packs are to include “several hours of gameplay and introduce new adventures, allies, enemies and environments”. Remember that Borderlands 2 itself will arrive in the US on September 18th, being rolled out elsewhere on the 18th.
