2D Cave Story is set to be released for Nintendo 3DS via its eShop on October 4th at a price of $9.99. This is after an announcement was made by Nicalis. However, there seems to be a flaw in the system - the fact hat there’s 3D effects.

Cave Story, in its original, is a 2D game that emerged for Wii via WiiWare. Then that release was followed by launches on DSi and PC’s Steam. After, the whole game was then renovated with 3DS polygonial graphics. That was named to Cave Story 3D.

Simple really. However, there’s also a way round playing the game on 3DS in 2D form. That can be made possible through buying the DSi version on the eShop at your peril. Then again, it is supposed to be in 3D so you’re good to go.
