Michael Pachter, an analyst at Wedbush, has claims that the likelihood is that the price of the Wii U is set to be slashed by Nintendo next year. Note that it would still be within its first year of available, which gives some profound implications.
In November, the console will arrive in the US and Europe, and will follow in December for Japan. There will be tje white Basic set at a price of $299 and a black Premium one for $349. Pachter thinks it could be quite disproportionate in terms of balance.
He said “We think that Wii U’s price points are appropriate given likely demand from Nintendo’s core fanbase, but believe that pricing will be too high to sustain demand given current competition from other consoles and tablets.”
