With the GDC kicking off yesterday, between all the cool exhibits and awesome news, one thing everyone has been wondering is: Who will take the gold in game of the year? Everyone has a different opinion of who will take what, and Wirebot is no different. Find out our predictions after the break! More »

Einstein knew what was up, being all smart and into physics. He knew that to get the cred, he had to sit in his room for years and come up with the theory of relativity. Thankfully, we can just use his ideas in a video game and not have to sit in a room, shunning the real world in exchange for immersion into a..project..that…Oh no. We are nerds! More »

IGN has released statements from Microsoft claiming that every Natal game in development will be shown at this Summer’s E3 conference. Over 70% of worldwide publishers are working on content for Microsoft’s motion control device making that promise evermore enticing. More »

Remember that beautiful Japanese Final Fantasy XIII bundle, with the white Playstation 3 and pink sprawling artwork on the front? Remember how bad we all wanted it, and how dissapointed we were when Sony hated on us and didn’t make it happen? Well, all that sadness disappeared and was replaced with joy on finding out the 360 was getting its own FFXIII bundle, right here in the states. That is until I saw what we were actually getting with this “bundle.” More »

What could be better than an open world post-apocalyptic environment sprawling with mutants, crazy gangs, undead, and dudes in huge metal suits all wanting to fight the crap out of you? Besides Mass Effect Fields and Spectres, nothing really comes close. This is why Fallout: Vegas, a followup/spinoff to Fallout 3 set in the same universe, will ultimately rule. Check out some newly released, sweet looking screenshots after the break. More »

In an interview with Industry Gamers, God of War III Senior Producer, Steve Caterson tells us that “God of War III won’t spell the end of the franchise” like we once thought. Thank the gods, there is still more Kratos to come! More »

They are starting to seem like little pests, the kind that even when facing extermination, they keep on fighting. These little annoyances are the casual gaming audience and their persistent money spending. While Nintendo is rolling in the dough over a bunch of mini games developed years ago, hard working developers are trying to make ends meet. Come on Nintendo, can’t you cut them some slack? Keep your minions at bay for a few weeks?

Check out the full breakdown of the top ten games to sell in the US this past week after the break. More »

I know I am a little behind the times, but today marks my first successful completion of the suicide run in Mass Effect 2! Unfortunately, not all of us made it back. Jack, Zaeed, and Thane all kicked the bucket, but their deaths are not in vain. The galaxy is safe and the weirdo reaper thing is destroyed (Terminator much?). But that is not what this blog is about. Though I didn’t realize how ingenious Bioware was at the beggining of the game, by the end the whole “mine the hell out of the universe” system really worked! God of War and Twisted Metal designer and director, David Jaffe, ranted on his blog the other night about Microsoft’s downloadable title Scrap Metal and Hollywood’s recently announced film, War of the Gods. He believes both properties should be held accountable for copyright infringement and urges Sony to get their lawyers involved. More »

It seems like every form of media has to try out the Inspector Gadget “this paper will self-destruct in 10 seconds” method of distribution at least once in its life cycle. So far we’ve seen timed deterioration of VHS, DVD, MP3s and even paper with evaporating ink. The newest medium to join the group is video game demos. Sony puts a spin on things though, these demos won’t go bomb after an hour of playtime, instead it will slowly become crippled by deteriorating elements within the game. More »

It appears that the OS X buttons found buried deep within the source code of the new Steam beta weren’t there by coincidence. The software download client, Steam, will in fact be coming to Apple’s OS X. The confirmation was made after Valve released images parodying different advertisements from Apple. If you need a good laugh, the images can be found below. More »

If you still don’t know what The Secret World is, you better get out from under that rock, and then re-evaluate the space you occupied underneath that rock and make sure you weren’t sitting next to it the entire time. That is the best way to describe Funcom’s highly anticipated MMO that exists within the world we don’t see. More »

Forget ranking and achievements, what really matters in the real world and what allows us gamers to justify spending hours on end honing our skills at a specific game is making money by playing. With this new venture called GameSetCash, you will be able to do just that. And you won’t even have to order one of those stupid books! More »

The Game Developers Conference, the one convention outside of E3 that really does indeed matter to the industry on a substantial level. A closed to the public media and game industry peeps only conference, many of the topics discussed are rooted in the “inside baseball” category of the industry. In other words, the boring nuts and bolts of how the game industry works and where its heading, rather than major flashy press releases and booth babes. But the boring is subjective. If you find panels and 1 year plans interesting, read on! More »
