“Boom! Rat a tat tat!” were the first sounds I heard when I jumped into Red Dead Redemption’s multiplayer for the first time. I was expecting to pair up with a few other gunslingers and cooperatively take down a bandit hideout, but was greeted with higher ranked gamers with a hatred of noobs. I died 17 times that day before I quit my session. More »

Okay, I will be honest. Master Chief never really did it for me. The macho man, green suit, super soldier vibe doesn’t really get me going, and in fact quite turns me off. I am talking about my video game tastes, pervie. Anyway, even though Halo wasn’t quite my cup of first person shooter, I would be lying if I wasn’t interested in playing Halo: Reach. I definitely missed out on the beta, but thankfully I won’t have to wait until Christmas to get back into mediocre alien slaying. More »

When I say Darkness, I am not talking about that horrible lackluster first person shooter that came out two years ago. Nor am I referencing the one hit wonder machine that “believes in a thing called love.” This specific darkness comes from the depths of a writers mind, a cesspool of horrible confusion and chaos that grabs at your collar and drags you down into itself so fast that before you know it, 20 hours have passed, its 3am, and the credits are rolling while David Bowie’s “Space Oddity” crawls into your eardrums. Yeah, Alan Wake is kinda like that. More »
