After playing a couple more weeks and talking to more people, I’m realizing that there’s a lot of strategy in leveling up on We Farm. Granted, We Farm is far from Starcraft II, but it does represent one component of strategy games - resource management and base development. Instead of Vespene Gas and minerals, you have gold and exp and instead of bases you have farms - same difference right? These two things allow you to build businesses that will earn you residual money/exp and gain levels which gives you access to bigger and better things. In the early and middle stages of We Farm, these resources are equally important. More »

The next big game on the release horizon is Mafia II by 2K Games. It’s scheduled to come out 8/24 for the PC, Xbox360, and PS3 for about $60 US. Bill recently did a phone conversation with their creative director which is a must read! Wirebot reviews many games across many platforms on a weekly basis. Every now and then we find a game that’s so fun to play that it makes us quite literally tear up in appreciation of it. If we could, we would want to shake the hands of the developers that coded them and perhaps even buy them a beer. I downloaded the We Farm app for the iPad earlier this week and have been “playing it” in between work. Those that have been on Farmville via Facebook will understand why I added the quotation mark. We Farm isn’t so much a game as it is a platform for social activities. This lead me to think it would be kinda cool if we can get users of Wirebot / Mixr Media to “play” this game together. TowerMadness HD claims to be an epic 3D Tower Defense game for the iPad from Limbic Software. Having played countless hours of Warcraft 3 tower defense games, I would say they undersold themselves - especially on the word epic. It’s a really epic game 3D Tower Defense game!
