From Ningin: In most American high schools, May is the time to bust out the yearbooks, go to prom and maybe say your final goodbyes. Everything done this month has to be memorable. It’s no different at Mixr High. Only, we’re not saying goodbye to you — nor are we an actual high school. We’re also probably won’t go to prom with you if you ask us. (We’ll sign your yearbooks though.) We just want you to have a Memorable May with Mixr. More »

I haven’t heard a single positive thing about the new 3D technology that is about to hit the world. It’s being introduced too soon after HD, it’s expensive and bulky (requiring 3D glasses), and nobody wants it. But still it seems the unwanted revolution is pushing forward. More »

Valve co-founder, Gabe Newell is known for his elitist remarks about developing for the difficult architecture of the PS3. His arrogant and often smug demeanor when talking about anything not branded with a Microsoft logo has left PS3 gamers loving Valve games, but hating the man behind them. Today is a new day though and with it brings the possibility of Valve developing their IPs for Sony’s black box. Looks like the upward sales trend the PS3 has been producing has caused even the most die hard Xbox fanboy to have a change of heart. More »

Having not ever read Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy I was excited to finally see what all the fuss was about. While this might not be the best representation of the 12th Century poet, I found it to be a pleasurable experience none the less. Before I go any further I must admit that even though Visceral Games did an astonishing job at reviving the survival horror genre with Dead Space, I feared that not even they could adapt an epic poem into an entertaining video game franchise. With that said, the God of War style combat is intriguing, so I sat down with the Animated Epic in hopes that I wouldn’t be totally lost when I finally get my hands on the game. More »

Now that you’ve seen James Cameron’s 3D epic Avatar you probably have decided whether or not 3D technology is worth it. Either way, it doesn’t really matter because the entertainment industry seems to think it’s the next big thing. Sony is of no exception. At CES, the company announced numerous 3D-ready TV’s and confirmed 3D support on the PS3 by means of a simple firmware upgrade. More »

From Ningin: A big surprise from the Sony and Panasonic team. Each of the two 25GB layers has been refined to 33.4GB per layer. They have been working a refinement for a while now, as the weakest chain in their technology is NOT their lasers. Why fix the body when you can fix the brain? How does this work, without buying any additional parts? A firmware update (FREE DOWNLOAD) to your blu-ray player or PS3 will tell your lasers to read more precisely and pack data more closely within the same space efficiently. (Improving error check.) Unimaginable. The bundles Sony are coming up with are getting more ridiculous. First, there was the foul Hannah Montana PSP bundle (by the way, I still haven’t gotten over how horrid it is. I cringe everytime I see that lilac colour) and soon in Japan, you will be able to purchase this. More »
