It’s been a few days since I’ve last written about my experiences with Final Fantasy XIII, so I would like to take this time to catch you up with what I’ve been up to. My weekend went something like this: God of War, FF XIII, God of War, FF XIII, even more God of War, and well, yeah you get the gist of it! More »

By now we all know how monotonous the first 15 hours or so of Final Fantasy XIII can be at times and are all pushing through it in hopes that it will pick up any minute now, but what about those casual players that may have already jumped ship? More »

I just wanted make a quick comment about the insane number of flashbacks Final Fantasy XIII has and wanted to ask if anyone else was feeling my pain? I am in absolute love with the storyline, but I can’t help but think it could have been told in more creative ways than the obscene amounts of flashbacks that appear every 20- 30 paces Lightening takes. Remember those days when calling upon Odin, Shiva, or Ifrit would guarantee the instant annihilation of all non-boss enemies. Final Fantasy XIII is full of tattoos. Well alright, marks of the l’Cie aren’t necessarily tattoos, but they look just the same. All l’Cie marks are different and all of the main characters sport them in one location or another. But they aren’t the only characters with ink, Lebreau and Gadot have some too. Would you ever get marked with a sign of the l’Cie? More »

As much fun as I’ve been having with Final Fantasy XIII I have to admit that the majority of it stems from the storyline and not the action, fighting, and/or general RPG elements like tweaking stats and such. It seems like so much effort was put into developing a cohesive, easy to follow narrative that the game’s other features fell to the wayside. More »

Boss battles in Final Fantasy XIII are challenging and there’s nothing you can do about it. In the past if you couldn’t get past a particular monster you could do a little level grinding until your attributes beefed up enough to slay the baddie with ease. This is not the case in the newest installment, level caps eliminate the ability to grind and force you to rethink your strategy the next time around. Do you miss grinding or are you happy to see it go? More »
