Despite some shortcomings, Egypt: Engineering an Empire is an enjoyable game for turn-based strategy fans. Overall, there aren’t many decent strategy games for the iOS platform. The touch interface and limited memory of iDevices just doesn’t work for the Civilizations, conquer the world one turn at a time type of game. Because of that, Egypt didn’t have to do much to be become one of the top games in this category. Unfortunately, it did just enough and not much more. More »

Winemaker Extraordinaire HD is a game similar to Chocolatier, but with wine. Being somewhat of a Winelover Extraordinaire who’s previously played and enjoyed Chocolatier, I gave Winemaker Extraordinaire HD a spin. If you enjoy wine just as much as I do, I’ll just warn you now — you will get thirsty playing this game. Thirsty or having serious grapes cravings. More »

Reminiscent of Toy Story, Trouble in Tin Town is a turn-based strategy game in which long forgotten wind-up toys are rediscovered in an attic and brought to life by the kids who found the wind-up toys. Being brought back to life doesn’t spell out good times for wind- up toys. Instead, its only rekindled old negative flames and made wind-up toy factions (yes they have factions) more apparent. Grim Joggers is a platformer and endless runner game that lives up to the saying, “Get fit or die trying.” The objective is to keep a team of 15 runners alive while jogging through 3 different terrains filled with deadly pits and lethal vegetation. It’s a harsh way to stay healthy, but apparently you as a Grim Joggers player have signed your life away to jogging for survival. Or shall I say jogging, running incredibly fast and jumping crazy distances to avoid obstacles. More »

Lunar New Year 2011, the Year of the Rabbit conjures images of rabbits and good fortune in my mind. Sadly, such is not the case with Cannibal Bunnies. In Cannibal Bunnies, it’s a bunny-eat-bunny world. The world in Cannibal Bunnies has been over-run by — you guessed it…Cannibal Bunnies! The domination of the Cannibal Bunnies has left many cute, pink bunnies poor and defenseless. In this game, it’s up to you to protect the pink bunnies. More »

A time management game that doesn’t take place at a diner, spa or salon? The phrase, “Sign me up!” came to mind when I discovered that Are You Alright? HD is a time management game with a medical setting. Unlike most time management games, the game’s story is short and sweet. You play Chloe, a medical professional who has faith that her father’s medical inventions saves lives. As Chloe, your purpose for living (or playing) is to do just that — save lives. Thankfully, she doesn’t go up against the cliched corporate world nemesis because then the game’s enemy would be Health Insurance. Who wants to deal with health insurance in iPad games? I sure don’t, but I digress. More »
