Hello, my name is Bill and I am a Call of Duty addict. They say admitting is is the first step right? Well here it goes then. I play COD so much that it has become ingrained in my daily routine. Sometimes I skip meals to play, sometimes I skip sleep to play, and sometimes I play even when I don’t really want to. It has engulfed my life in a way that not many games do. With that all out on the table I’m going to share with you all some confessions of mine: little quirks or habits I’ve picked up through my relationship with Call of Duty. More »
MAG is finally out! And of course my husband and I were first in line to get it. Literally - we stopped by GameStop at midnight on Jan 26th to pick us up a copy. It’s everything that the demogave a taste of and more. And of course while we were (ok, while HE was) playing, talk in the squad turned to Modern Warfare 2. William put forth the burning question: Does MAG stand a chance against Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2?To which my answer is obviously, it’s MW2 that loses in this pairing. More »
With the 2007 release of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Activision and Infinity Ward knew they had a gem on their hands. Taking the Call of Duty series out of it’s classic theme of World War II and throwing players into a fictional war based in current times, the series garnered a new fan base and it essentially established the game as the must-have shooter of the year. When Call of Duty: World at War was released the next year, fans were split. With most series, players usually move on to the next step in the franchise, but due to World at War again being based in the 1940’s many players continued to play Modern Warfare up until November 10, 2009. Then there was a new cat on the playground… Modern Warfare 2. The behemoth of all videogames, Modern Warfare 2 not only broke, but smashed every record known to mankind in any form of entertainment. Video game developing is a fickle mistress and there are many times that a development studio will put out a powerhouse hit and are then expected to follow it up with something even better and more miraculous. Unfortunately developers often ignore the simplest of problems with their first titles and fail to repair them when the second title is released. Let’s explore some of the kinks that developers need to work out as they work on cranking out titles in the upcoming year. More »

Dear Gaming Gods,
This year for Christmas, one of the things I wish for is a new type of co-op gaming experience. You know how most games only allow two players per console to join up and play a campaign story together? I wish that you can make all companies develop games with the possibility of More »
You know it seems that after playing several online games, not just MMORPGs but also FPS’s like Team Fortress II and what not, dedicated servers are often a major part of the overall gaming experience. Most games also go on to have mods, and these two key points are very influential when dealing with PC editions of games.
Quite recently, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been getting a bit of bashing from its PC players More »
With the HUGE success of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare 2 comes a lot of giving back to the community. War Child is a charity that helps children in areas with conflict, and pretty soon, they are going to be receiving a lot of help from Activision UK, Infinity Ward, and Xbox Live and Game. More »
The world of games is not only going CRAZY over the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, so are many retail stores around the country. Yesterday I had to drive down to Denver, and for me, it’s a 60 mile trip. Therefore, doing some shopping down there is usually a priority. I stopped at Super Target first as soon as it opened to check it out and look around. I wanted to see if they had any good game sales going on but I was instead bombarded with Modern Warfare 2. As possibly the most annoying guy in the world, I don’t understand how the Australian gaming community is still functioning. After seeing the huge success of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare 2 in the rest of the world, I can’t imagine how Australian gamers are responding. Michael Atkinson, an Australian Attorney-General, continues to be the blockade between Australia and COD4MW2. He truly and confidently believes on a ban against R18+ games. More »
With the major success of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which to be honest was already anticipated by Activision, comes a return to society. Having expected major profit from this game, Activision is establishing a Veterans Grant, to be known as the Call of Duty endowment(nice name), that will sum up $1 million to be used to helping veterans find jobs in the market again.
