This year, the Anime expo in London’s exCel was held, bringing cosplayers from all over the country down to show off their new costumes! Every year they have some amazing costumes from Final Fantasy to Star Wars. I headed down to ExCel myself to take a look at some of the amazing costumes as well as dressing up myself as Heechul from the Don’t Don concept, a long side Misty from Pokemon and Fang from Final Fantasy 13. While I’m not big into cosplay myelf, I am always amazed with how well crafted and spot on some of the costumes are. Like this Samus cosplay that recently hit the net. Not only is the costume detailed with nuances that diehard fans will pick up on, but the backdrops where the photographs were taken even match the in-game surroundings. It’s true a work of art! Check out the gallery below! More »

From Ningin: Thanks to the 2010 New York Comic Con (NYCC) and New York Anime Festival (NYAF) taking place this past weekend, I’ve never had a weekend more packed with anime, manga/comics, cosplayers and video games. To put things more into perspective, at least 77,000 fans were in attendance — this event is easily the East Coast’s largest for anime, manga/comics and video games! Right in the middle of it all was me, a comic con attendee of only moderate passion for anime, manga/comics, cosplay and video games. And no, I did not dress up. Despite this, the comic con sensory overload and the exhaustion from walking what seemed to be miles of comic con space packed with everyone and their cosplaying hamsters, I managed to have myself a great time. The Tokyo Show 2010 was a great turn out for Cosplayers from around the world, with people dressing as all the popular game and anime characters, such as the picture above showing three of the characters from Final Fantasy X (Lulu, Yuna and Tidus). Their costumes all look really well made, I’ve seen a lot of Final Fantasy X costumes but these are some of the best yet. More »

This years PAX convention got some interesting cosplayers this year, including some zombies from Plants VS Zombies playing on Rock Band as seen in the photo above. There was a collection of people dressed as zombies, street fighters and many more familiar characters. Some cosplay costumes much of taken so much time to make, these are impressive outfits, some are more familiar than others. More »

Link kissing Link? Bet Zelda isn’t happy about this! Its something most nintendo fans wouldn’t think of but now its happened! In most of the photos from the AnimagiC cosplay, Zelda and Link are paired up. However in this one it seems Link has ditched Zelda for dark Link. I’m not really sure about this new couple, always thought Link and Zelda were the couple… now that this has happened there might be more couples within Zelda to come. More »

That’s right, this Neptune cosplay costume will drain you of $1,172 (¥98,650) should you wish to purchase it. The costume is worn by the character Neptune (Purple Heart), who is voiced by Rie Tanaka, from the Neptune video game which was released on July 29th. More »

Dark Stars Photography has composed a wonderful photoshoot of the beautiful and attractive Polish model Jessika F, cosplaying as Miranda Lawson from Mass Effect 2. This isn’t your ordinary shoot either, there has been a lot of time invested in the costume, photoshopped combat features and even finding the perfect location for the actual photoshoot. I really enjoyed looking at the special effects, especially the awesome golden gauntlet on her right arm, and I loved the fact that it didn’t feel artificial as I felt that the essence of the game was truly embodied in the photos. I hope to see more photoshoots of this caliber from Dark Stars Photography and wish them good fortune in the future. More »

Gamescom 2010 was filled with people cosplaying and I have to say some of these outfits are seriously awesome. Every time I see people cosplay I am always amazed at all the work that goes into the outfits and the large variety of outfits there are. You can view the entire gallery of outfits here but here are a few of my favorites: More »

From Rekuru: Cosplay is one of the coolest and fun way to express your love for your favorite anime character and this person seems to enjoy doing it for Love Plus…or Nintendo? I’m not sure if he is heading towards a cosplay event or its just a part of Nintendo’s advertising strategy. Either way its a cool and unique idea. More »
