They are starting to seem like little pests, the kind that even when facing extermination, they keep on fighting. These little annoyances are the casual gaming audience and their persistent money spending. While Nintendo is rolling in the dough over a bunch of mini games developed years ago, hard working developers are trying to make ends meet. Come on Nintendo, can’t you cut them some slack? Keep your minions at bay for a few weeks?

Toyota is promoting their dual view entertainment center that is available for their 2010 Toyota Sienna by showcasing a father playing Wii while his infant daughter is washing his car. A funny scene indeed, but not nearly as funny as it’s going to be after we hear about the first lawsuit being filed after a flung wii remote causes a ten car pile up. I promise you that sounded much less gruesome in my head, maybe I should have kept that one to myself. You can find the video below. More »
Sorry PS3 and Xbox bound hockey fans you won’t be able to get your gloved mitts on NHL 2K11 any time soon. Take-Two Entertainment has made the odd decision not to release NHL 2K11 outside of the Nintendo Wii. The developer has decided to take the year off from the other two consoles in order to focus their efforts on the multi-platform NHL 2K12. This doesn’t quite add up to me. And is the Wii really the system developers are going to for sports titles now? Really? More »
Wish the Nintendo Power Glove stuck around? Into Warcraft III: DotA? Then do I got a treat for you! Taken directly from their website, The Peregrine is “Simpler, faster, and deadlier than any gaming keyboard. Ditch the keys. Own the glove. Own the game.” What this new hip, gaming glove is trying to do is find a replacement for the keyboard in MMO and RTS PC games where one could end up having to memorize over 30 hotkeys. The glove instead lets you map these hot keys to specific points on your hand so you don’t need to worry too much about keyboard shortcuts or awkward hand stretches. More »
3D is the latest craze. Movies, TVs… everything is in 3D lately. Including the Nintendo DSi. Out on March 3rd, Rittai Kakushi e Attakoreda (Hidden 3D Image: There It Is!) is a game that uses the DSi’s camera to determine the player’s position… and changes the scene accordingly. By moving your head or tilting the DS, you are given a different view of the scene in front of you. The effect feels like you’re looking into your DS. According to Boing Boing, the game will only be available for download in Japan, but maybe more games will follow will let the rest of the world get in on the fun.

Ghostbusters on the Wii was neat, but I think we can all agree that it was lacking that certain something. Thanks to modder extraordinaire, Jack Rossi, we now know that something special! After years of complaints from video game fans(including myself), Nintendo has finally answered us with the announcement of Other M. This is not a sequel to Metroid Prime, nor is it a classic sidescrolling adventure Metroid game of old. No, this is something different entirely. A few days ago in San Francisco, the press got a hands on with the game and gave us something to talk about. And boy, is it something! More »

Nintendo will begin shipping out the new super sized Nintendo DSi on March 28th. Retailing for exactly$189.99, only $20 higher than a regular, normal-sized DSi, the upgrade seems more than worth it. That is if you don’t mind trading off portability for a larger screen. Which is more important to you, mobile gamers, the system fitting in your pocket or playing Zelda on a display larger than even Sony’s PSP? Check out our DSi gallery below. More »

From Girlybubble: In a fit of madness, designer Helen Red Richards managed to produce one of the strangest mergings of technology and fashion I’ve ever seen. Combining the style and glam of the 1970s with old school GameBoys, she created several pairs of these funky shoes for a Nintendo campaign in 2001, which became a popular trend among the Japanese youth for awhile– or so they claim. Nintendo has a habit of releasing very exciting news just after I trash the system to one of my friends. I’m not necessarily talking trash because I think the Wii is an inferior system, but more so because I paid $250 for a system that only releases a game worthy of playing 2-3 times a year. The tantalizing news this time around is a new Super Mario Galaxy 2 trailer. Boy, if only Nintendo could put out a game this pretty every month I’d gladly trade in both my PS3 and Xbox! Witness 2 whole minutes of solid joy after the break. More »
