It seems like every form of media has to try out the Inspector Gadget “this paper will self-destruct in 10 seconds” method of distribution at least once in its life cycle. So far we’ve seen timed deterioration of VHS, DVD, MP3s and even paper with evaporating ink. The newest medium to join the group is video game demos. Sony puts a spin on things though, these demos won’t go bomb after an hour of playtime, instead it will slowly become crippled by deteriorating elements within the game. More »

By now you have already noticed the significant differences between Battlefield Bad Company 2 and its predecessor. BBC2 has taken a page right out of the Call of Duty handbook and altered its gameplay and look to one that is more realistic. Missions are no longer semi-free roaming as the original and some adjustments have been made to the controls and health system to assimilate with popular FPS games like the ever popular Call of Duty franchise. While some of these changes are welcomed with open arms, I can’t help but feel that its lost some of its charm. More »

Yesterday Sony unexpectedly announced the purchase of game developer Media Molecule. While this news isn’t the most shocking, considering how well received their smash it Little Big Planet was, it does spark interest in what MM has planned for their next project. It appears that last night a “2KY” bug has brought older model PS3s to a halt. The 8001050F error code is not allowing users to sign in to PSN, corrupting Trophy information, and setting back the system clock to 12/31/1999. This bug is only affecting non-Slim models, so new adaptors are immune. The same can not be said for developer consoles that are now unable to continue work creating and testing their games. Sony is hard at work on bringing this to an end. More »
