From Ziggytek: At Game Developers Conference, Sony demonstrated its Nintendo Wii challenger, the Playstation Move controller, which is touted as much more accurate than the Wii nun-chuck and is targeted at hardcore rather than casual gamers. Sony says that the device will be out in the fall and should be in the $100 range for a full starter kit that includes the Eye camera and a game. More »
With Kratos chillin just around the corner, we were bound to see some leaked footage of the game pop up on the internet. This video depicts Kratos in a battle against a boss within the game. Granted, this scene could contain spoilers (depending on your definition of the term) so don’t say I didn’t warn you. More »
It seems like every form of media has to try out the Inspector Gadget “this paper will self-destruct in 10 seconds” method of distribution at least once in its life cycle. So far we’ve seen timed deterioration of VHS, DVD, MP3s and even paper with evaporating ink. The newest medium to join the group is video game demos. Sony puts a spin on things though, these demos won’t go bomb after an hour of playtime, instead it will slowly become crippled by deteriorating elements within the game. More »
Yesterday Sony unexpectedly announced the purchase of game developer Media Molecule. While this news isn’t the most shocking, considering how well received their smash it Little Big Planet was, it does spark interest in what MM has planned for their next project. It would have to be something pretty significant for Sony to invest enough faith in the developer to purchase it out right. More »
It appears that last night a “2KY” bug has brought older model PS3s to a halt. The 8001050F error code is not allowing users to sign in to PSN, corrupting Trophy information, and setting back the system clock to 12/31/1999. This bug is only affecting non-Slim models, so new adaptors are immune. The same can not be said for developer consoles that are now unable to continue work creating and testing their games. Sony is hard at work on bringing this to an end. More »
According to the gaming world, Heavy Rain is apparently good. But my question is, is it good enough to make into a movie? Hell, is any game good enough to transfer to the big screen successfully? This is perhaps one of the biggest philosophical questions of our day, but like most things in 2010, we act before we think. More »

From Ziggytek: Nintendo has declared that its new DSi XL, which will debut on March 28th for $190, is also an e-reader. Apple’s iPad and iPod Touch/iPhone are breaking into the Japanese gaming corporation’s territory; the DSi XL is return fire that will a title called “100 Classic Books,” which includes works from Shakespeare and Twain. From Ziggytek: While Rob Dyer at SCEA did not actually use the term “overpriced” to describe the PSPgo, he did admit that “the higher price point” of the unit compared to the regular PSP has not helped “matters any.” The PSPgo has been a sales dud, but Sony and its third party publishers have some triple A titles on schedule for this year in hopes of boosting sales. From Ningin:
It seems our fears have come true and the Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy XIII will indeed be a crippled one. The Xbox version only runs at 1024×576 with 2xAA while the PS3 version runs at 1280×720 2x msaa. It is far from optimized to be a perfect port, and many compromises have been made. More »
Do you have too many gaming controllers laying around? Then Sony’s upcoming invention might be just what you are looking for. A patent was filed the other day showing schematics for an all-in-one universal console controller that will work with your Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii. Aside from the standard directional pad and 4 basic button inputs the device is equipped with a touch-sensitive LCD screen that will handle each systems unique functions. More »
The Yakuza series never really did much for me. It always seemed somewhat lackluster, but even though it wasn’t my cup of tea, everyone deserves another shot, right? With Yakuza 3 coming out very soon(March 12th in fact!) on the PS3, I figure it is time to step back into that suit and take Kazuma for another go. More »
No, I don’t literally mean cheese is involved. Though some cheddar would be nice right now, this kind of cheese comes with this quote:
Fate has brought me here, I hope for nothing, I fear nothing!. More »
