There won’t be any bewilderment when Japan’s leading developer and publisher Konami releases a premium edition of the upcoming Castelvania: Lords of Shadow game. Apparently Amazon.com accidentally posted an image of the limited edition box set, but then swiftly removed it, however the damage was already done as the photo was already leaked and posted on some of the major gaming sites. The image shows a package containing two Xbox 360 game discs, a soundtrack, and a “The Art of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow” book. A Konami representative has stated clearly that the images printed on Castlevania: Lords of Shadow’s book and soundtrack, displayed on Amazon only exhibits a model version of the special edition which may be released, however nothing official has been announced. A hefty list of songs that are definitely making their appearance on the sixth installment of Guitar Hero, now known as Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock instead of simply Guitar Hero 6 (guess they decided the old name was lacking in the creative department) have been released. Whenever I read anything about Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood I instantly think of that creepy Jester character. It’s a great marketing device I guess, but geez I have enough nightmares already. If you can stand to be creeped out long enough to watch the new multiplayer trailer, I highly recommend that you do. It might very well be the multiplayer game you spend all year playing. More »

I haven’t seen a multiplayer map editor this in depth since… well, never. Forge World will allow users to completely customize each and every aspect of the world without the frustrations found in the Halo 3 map editor. There’s so much stuff packed into the new editor that I don’t have the space to include in this post. Instead watch the developers talk about it below, they’re the ones who created it after all. From Ziggytek: The Kinect sensor by itself with Kinect Adventures game is going to cost what we have feared, $149.99 in November. Microsoft’s redesigned black Xbox “slim” will be released in a 4Gb capacity version in matte instead of glossy for $199.99 on August 3rd. Last of all, $299.99 buys gamers a Kinect bundle, along with the aforementioned Xbox console for $299.99. More »

From Ziggytek: Probably just a case of new gadget hysteria, but Microsoft’s redesigned Xbox 360 is hot commodity. It was long overdue for a complete revamp. Sony came out with its cheaper to produce PS3 Slim eons ago, and aside from shrinking the graphics and CPU die on the Xbox motherboard, Microsoft had done nothing since now. More »

Rockstar Games has announced its 4 DLC packs that will come to Red Dead Redemption over the next couple of months. Each pack comes so packed to the brim with new playable characters, location, weapons, mini-games and missions that you just have to see to believe. Visceral Games plans the most epic of teases with its release of Dead Space Ignition, an interactive mini-game filled comic book that covers the events that unfold after the original game and before 2011’s Dead Space 2. It’s been a few years since we’ve had fresh Dead Space content and I was finally able to sleep with the lights off, but that’s all about to change. More »

From Ziggytek: I have outlined my reasons for believing that both/either the Xbox 360 Kinect and/or Playstation Move are/is going to fail epically, yet some of the same arguments for failure can (paradoxically) be used to suggest that one or both will succeed. More »

From Ziggytek: Four years after Nintendo’s Wii, which was laughed at by its competitors but has sold over 70 million consoles, Sony and Microsoft are hopping aboard the motion control bandwagon. From Ziggytek: Either pay $620 for a fully customized Xbox 360 (slim) like the monstrosity that I have pictured, or send in your own and fork over only 245 clams for its paint-job. Included is one sexy blue wireless controller. More »
